Mark Laita Exhibit at Fahey Klein Gallery

The innovative black and white pigment printing process pioneered by BowHaus is producing prints for exhibits throughout the world. Click here to read about Mark Laita’s thought-provoking photographic essay, Created Equal, which documents the diversity of American culture through carefully orchestrated portraits. Laita, who worked on the project for seven years, chose each subject carefully, with the intention of “remind[ing] us that we are all equal, until our environment, circumstances or fate molds us and weathers us into whom we become”. The result of his effort is a collection of striking images displayed in a diptych, or side-by-side, format accentuating the contrasts as well as similarities of the subjects. This collection, printed by BowHaus in collaboration with the artist, includes a series of life-sized photographs. Created Equal was on exhibit at the Fahey/Klein Gallery in Los Angeles from September 7, 2006 to October 14, 2006.
